License or upgrade candidates may take tests at the Coweta Public Safety Training Facility, on Greison Trail in Newnan.

The Coweta VE team usually holds its test sessions in even-numbered months, often but not always on the fourth Sunday of the month. Contact for the exact date of the session you're interested in.

Finding this location may be challenging for persons unfamiliar with Newnan. Examiners will monitor the K4SEX 145.13 repeater to "talk in" anyone who misses the entrance to the site.

Via Interstate 85:
(Caution: highway construction detours may apply through 2009)

Take Exit 47 and drive approximately 3.3 miles west on Hwy 34 (Bullsboro Drive) to Greison Trail.

Turn left and drive south approximately 0.4 miles. You will pass the Coweta County Sheriff's Office on your right; the Coweta Public Safety Training Facility will be on your left shortly afterward.

From Fayette County and Peachtree City:

Take Hwy 54 west from Peachtree City. At the intersection of Hwy 54 and 34 (first light past the county line), continue straight to join Hwy 34.

Drive on for 13 miles west on Hwy 34, past Interstate 85, to Greison Trail.

Turn left and drive south approximately 0.4 miles. You will pass the Coweta County Sheriff's Office on your right; the Coweta Public Safety Training Facility will be on your left shortly afterward.

From Carrollton:

Take Hwy 16 east to Newnan. Follow Temple Avenue/Clark Street to the junction with U.S. 29 (Jackson Street). Turn right on Jackson Street and merge promptly but safely to the left lane.

Turn left on Posey Place to reach Jefferson Street; turn or merge into the right lane of Jefferson Street and proceed east approximately 1.3 miles to Greison Trail.

Turn right and drive 0.4 miles south. You will pass the Coweta County Sheriff's Office on your right; the Coweta Public Safety Training Facility will be on your left shortly afterward.

From Franklin:

Take Hwy 34 east to Newnan. Follow Temple Avenue/Clark Street to the junction with U.S. 29 (Jackson Street). Turn right on Jackson Street and merge promptly but safely to the left lane.

Turn left on Posey Place to reach Jefferson Street; turn or merge into the right lane of Jefferson Street and proceed east approximately 1.3 miles to Greison Trail.

At the Training Facility:

The Coweta Public Safety Training Facility has no prominent identifying signage. It is on a deep lot with a large parking area and some modular buildings. There may be fire equipment visible on the property. The light gray modular building with a covered porch, directly facing the main parking area, is the usual testing location; if that building is already in use, another, white modular building connected to the gray one, may be used instead.
